- Dirutily Quick Reference Sheet

- F1 -- COPY
- Copy files to destination path given. If path does not exist, you will
- be prompted to create the subdirectory. File overwrite protection is
- an option in the profile. If the target disk is full, it will look for
- smaller marked files to copy to utilize as much disk space as possible.

- F2 -- DELETE
- Deletes files and empty subdirectories.
-
- F3 -- RENAME
- Renames files or subdirectories. An * can be used as a place holder for
- either the file name or extension. This will also work on marked files.
-
- F4 -- MOVE
- Move files to destination path given. If path does not exist, you will
- be prompted to create the subdirectory. File overwrite protection is
- an option in the profile. If the target disk is full, it will look for
- smaller marked files to move to utilize as much disk space as possible.

- F5-F9 -- SORT
- Will sort the directory according to the function key you select. You can
- select a default sort option in the profile.

- F10 -- NEW DISK/PATH
- Allows you to load a new directory and or drive.
-
- ESC -- QUIT/ABORT
- Will abort any operation you are being prompted for. It will also abort
- any operation being preformed on marked files. If it is pressed when no
- operation has been selected, you will be exited to DOS.

- ENTER -- LOAD DIRECTORY/BROWSE
- If the current line is a <DIR> entry, that subdirectory will be loaded. If
- the current line is a file, it will browsed if a browse utility was defined
- in the profile.

- Some Helpful Hints:
-
- - When you are in a subdirectory, you can put the bounce bar on the " . "
- subdirectory entry and reload the current directory. If you press Enter on
- the " .. " subdirectory entry, the parent directory of the current directory
- will be loaded.

- - To locate a file name or subdirectory name fast, push the first character
- of the file name and you will be placed on the first file name starting with
- that character. Press it again and you will be placed on the next file that
- begins with that character and so on. You can also use a "." to locate the
- "." and ".." entries. If you have the directory sorted by extension and you
- press a character, first subdirectories starting with that character are
- searched for then it will search for file extensions.

- - The Tab key works just like the down arrow key to scroll the list down.

- - Shift + Tab key works just like the up arrow key to scroll the list up.

- - Copy Dirutily.Exe and the profile to a ram disk for faster loading.
-
- - Put the following command in your Autoexec.Bat so Dirutily can find the
- profile. Reboot to make this change take effect.
- Example: SET DIRUTILY=D:\DIRUTILY.PRO

- - Run Dirucust utility to incorporate the profile into Dirutily, then you don't
- have to worry about loading the profile and it will speed up Dirutily loading.
